Soccer Player Krista Petersen Named Defensive Player of the Week

2017 Nov 7

Eastern Connecticut State University women's soccer player Krista Petersen of Wallingford received the Little East Conference (LEC) Defensive Player-of-the-Week Award for the week of Oct. 29. This is her second selection of the year. Peterson is a Spanish major.

Petersen, who was selected as an All-LEC defender, has continued to anchor the Warrior's defense. In a week when the Warriors went 1-1-0, the team gave up only 10 shots with Petersen on the field.

Against the University of Southern Maine this past week, the senior center back was superb. Behind Petersen's presence on the defensive end, the Warriors shutout the Huskies 2-0 en route to securing the regular-season LEC title for the third straight season.
