Tarchee Brown Becomes Eastern's All-Time Leading Scorer

2018 Jan 11

Eastern Connecticut State University student-athlete Tarchee Brown '18 of Vernon has become the all-time leading scorer for the men's basketball team. Late in the first half of the Warriors Jan. 6 matchup versus the University of Massachusetts-Boston, the senior guard from Rockville, who majors in Sociology, hit a three-point shot to push him past the previous record of 1,657 points (held by Nick Nedwick (2008-2012)).

The Warriors went on to win the game 80-54, pushing the team's record to 11-2 and landing them back in d3hoops.com's regional top 25 (#24 in the country). Teams are voted into d3hoops.com's Top 25 based on a panel of coaches, sports information directors and national media members.

Several days after the record was broken, Brown was named to d3hoops.com's Team-of-the-Week. His performance against the university of Massachusetts-Boston, as well as a tight 95-92 road win over Amherst College, earned him a spot on the five-man roster. On the season, Brown is currently second in the Little East Conference in scoring (22.5 points per game), as well as fifth in field goal percentage (54.6 percent).
