Troi Branham of New Haven Interns with MetLife through INROADS

Troi Branham '18, a business administration and theatre double major from New Haven, landed a paid summer internship with MetLife, a global insurance provider based in Bloomfield. Working full time in the Resources Management Team, she completed adherence and compliance reports and analyzed data trends for the call center.

"I've sat in on meetings with company executives and presented both individually and in groups to teams and executives," said Branham. "This experience has given me a sneak peek of the corporate business setting. I've learned how to speak and act professionally, and also how to work independently while efficiently managing my time and tasks."

Branham obtained her internship through INROADS, a nonprofit organization that partners with Eastern to place talented students from diverse backgrounds in competitive internships with industry-leading companies. Many students who succeed in INROADS internships find employment with their respective company upon graduation.

"With the invaluable help of INROADS, I'm gaining experience that some students may not get until later in their careers. The fact that I still have two more years in my undergraduate program and already have two internships under my belt gives me more motivation to keep going."
