Barrows STEM Academy middle schoolers to present at Eastern

Willimantic, CT (05/31/2023) — Eighth graders from Charles H. Barrow STEM Academy will present capstone projects at Eastern Connecticut State University on June 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Student Center. Titled "Education for the Goals," the event will feature all 60 eighth graders from the Windham STEM-focused middle school, who will present on a variety of sustainability topics.

The event will open at 10 a.m. with remarks by President Elsa Nunez, followed by poster presentations in the Betty R. Tipton Room, and closing with oral presentations in the Student Center Theatre from 11 to 12 p.m.

The oral presentations will feature five of the academy's most accomplished students.

"Education for the Goals" presentations will span a variety of sustainability topics, from poverty and gender equity to climate action and conservation. The event is sponsored by Eastern's Institute for Sustainability.
