Judy Bloom '14, of Marlborough, CT, a biology major at Eastern Connecticut State University, was recently selected by the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS) to participate in its highly competitive Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. The program is currently underway at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (UTK).

Two students are in service as Head Student Orientation Counselors for the upcoming SOAR program at Eastern Connecticut State University. SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) is Eastern's premier transitional program for incoming freshmen and transfer students.

Nana Owusu-Agyemang '13, of Ghana, West Africa, living in Laurel, MD, capped off her three-year course of study in Communication at Eastern Connecticut State University by delivering the Senior Class Address at Eastern's Commencement on May 14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-A1XMb6_Wo

Students and staff from Eastern Connecticut State University recently attended this year's National Association for Campus Activities conference in Hartford, CT. Student Campus Activity Board (CAB) coordinators took home honors for several categories including Excellence in Programming, Best Poster, Best Themed Campaign and Best Traditional Promotion for their division.
