Student Vocalists Perform in Epic Game of Thrones Concert

Nineteen talented student vocalists from Eastern Connecticut State University's Music Program were selected to perform in the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Feb. 25. The epic three-hour concert immersed performers and audience members of the sold-out show into the world of Westeros.

Advanced student pianists from Eastern Connecticut State University were chosen to perform alongside music faculty for a unique collaborative concert on Feb. 11. The first-of-its-kind "Multi-hand Piano Concert" featured repertoire for zero to eight hands, and was held in the Concert Hall of the Fine Arts Instructional Center.

November 2016 will go down in history for the Theatre Program at Eastern Connecticut State University, as the program's first major production in the Proscenium Theatre premiered. Situated in the new Fine Arts Instructional Center, "Cervantes' Pedro, The Great Pretender" christened the Proscenium Theatre from Nov. 8 to 13.

Titled "Outside the Lines," the exhibition kicked off with an award ceremony and reception on May 6 in the Art Gallery of the university's new Fine Arts Instructional Center.

Eastern Theatre Students Perform at CREATE Conference

More than 250 talented students at Eastern Connecticut State University presented research and creative work at the university's second annual CREATE conference this past April. CREATE stands for Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern, and is the university's premier, academic year-end showcase. At the culminating event, students of all majors presented professional posters, live music, dance performances, artwork, photography, documentaries and panel discussions.

Eastern Student Alexis Kurtz Wins First at CT-NATS Auditions

More than 90 singers from across the state came to Eastern Connecticut State University on March 5 for the annual student auditions of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (CT-NATS). Awards were given to the top three singers in each of the eight categories. Six singers from Eastern participated in the auditions.

The Performing Arts Department and Drama Society recently performed the play in Eastern's Harry Hope Theatre.

Eastern Students Design Exhibit at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

Four digital art students from Eastern Connecticut State University designed a permanent exhibit at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp--Paul Newman's famed camp for children with serious illnesses. The project, which began in the spring semester and launched this past June, visually documents the history of the Ashford camp.
