Media Advisory: Eastern to Reveal TIMPANI Toy Study Results on Dec. 4

Willimantic, CT (12/03/2018) — Tomorrow, Dec. 4 at 10 a.m., Eastern Connecticut State University will reveal the results of its 2017-18 TIMPANI toy study. TIMPANI stands for "Toys that Inspire Mindful Play and Nurture Imagination." The annual study investigates how young children play with a variety of toys, and identifies toys that best engage children in intellectual, creative, social and verbal interactions.

The reveal and press conference will occur at 10 a.m. (Dec. 4) in the Joinery of the Center for Early Childhood Education (CECE). The Joinery is located between the CECE and the Child and Family Development Resource Center (CFDRC).

Following, members of the press will be able to photograph and video record the winning toy in action at the university's preschool.

The event will also recognize four Eastern undergraduate students who worked on the most recent study and include a short video of children playing with the highest-scoring toy.
