Theatre: Eastern announces 2025-26 performance season, ticket bundle

'Wonder of the World' showing Oct. 14-19

Willimantic, CT (10/01/2025) — The Department of Communication, Film, and Theatre at Eastern Connecticut State University is proud to announce its 2025-26 theatre season, featuring four mainstage performances and one student-directed production.

Tickets for all fall 2025 productions are now on sale online or at the box office. Theatregoers can purchase single-show tickets or take advantage of the fall 2025 semester bundle, which includes all three productions at up to 15% off regular ticket prices.

Fall 2025 Productions

  • "Wonder of the World" - Oct. 14-19, 2025

Written by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by acting professor J.J. Cobb, this outrageous comedy of self-discovery comes to life with inventive sets by Tim Golebiewski, costumes by Rebecca Welles, and lighting by Jillian Martin '26. Performances will be held in the Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC) Delmonte-Bernstein Studio Theater.

  • "No Exit" - Oct. 30, 2025

Jean-Paul Sartre's existential classic, adapted by Paul Bowles and directed by student Zoe Calhoun, traps three strangers in an inescapable room where they must confront betrayal and insecurity. This psychological drama will be performed at 7:30 p.m. in the FAIC Delmonte-Bernstein Studio Theater.

  • "The Burial at Thebes" - Dec. 4-7, 2025

Seamus Heaney's translation of Sophocles' Antigone will be staged under the direction of Professor Kristen Morgan, chair of the Theatre Department. Presented in the FAIC Proscenium Theater, the play explores timeless themes of protest, injustice, and ethical responsibility.

Spring 2026 Productions

  • "Three Sisters" - March 3-8, 2026

Anton Chekhov's masterpiece, adapted by Sarah Ruhl, opens the spring season under the direction of Rachel Jett. Performed in the FAIC Delmonte-Bernstein Studio Theater, the play follows three sisters yearning for Moscow while confronting love, duty, and disillusionment in provincial Russia.

  • "The Burrow" (New Musical) - April 22-26, 2026

Written and directed by Professor Melanie Guerin, The Burrow is an original musical set in a subterranean world where young survivors live by rules left by absent guardians. When a stranger arrives with unsettling truths, their fragile order begins to collapse. Performances will take place in the FAIC Proscenium Theater.
