Eastern Connecticut State University physical education majors won the College Bowl at the Connecticut Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CTAHPERD) fall conference this November, among other achievements.

Eastern Connecticut State University's Physical Education program continued its tradition of winning the annual Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) College Bowl competition on April 21. The jeopardy-style game tests teams of students from colleges and universities across the country on health and physical education concepts. This was Eastern's third time winning the national competition in only its fourth time competing.

Eastern Connecticut State University Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) students won the Dee Perrelli College Bowl on Nov. 21. In its 10th year, the bowl is hosted by the Connecticut Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CTAHPERD) at its yearly conference in Cromwell. This is the fourth year in a row Eastern students have won the competition.

Eight Eastern Connecticut State University students in the Social Work Program attended the 34th annual conference of the National Association of Social Workers Connecticut Chapter, held in Cromwell, CT, on May 3.

In March, Eastern Connecticut State University Environmental Earth Science (EES) faculty and students attended the Geological Society of America (GSA) Northeastern Section Annual Meeting in Burlington, VT.
