Eastern student Jillian Olderman is one of the few young people in the United States to intern with Israel Lacrosse this summer. From June 1 to July 29, Olderman will develop the sport of lacrosse in Israel through the recruitment and outreach of children in the Israeli school system. A 12-hour website development competition called the "Code-A-Thon" took place at Eastern Connecticut State University this past April. Sponsored by Cigna's Technology Early Career Development Program (TECDP), the task was to create a mobile-friendly website to help people select the correct health insurance plan. The competition involved six-person student teams from Eastern and the University of Connecticut; Eastern's Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) club won first place.

For the conference's Database Driven Website Competition, the club's task was to completely replace the website of a selected nonprofit organization with a modernized, database-driven website.

Graduating senior Richard Magner and his mentor, Mathematics Professor Mizan Khan, presented at the prestigious Posters on the Hill conference in Washington, D.C., on April 22 and 23. Magner's research, titled "Geometric Questions in Number Theory," was one of 50 submissions selected from more than 500 applications.
