Two students from the Department of Environmental Earth Science (EES) at Eastern Connecticut State University joined Professor Peter Drzewiecki on a nine-day trip to the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain to examine the development of the area's geological features in late May.

More than 800 Eastern Connecticut State University students graduated in the 2023-24 academic year, which culminated with two commencement ceremonies at the conclusion of the spring 2024 semester. The University's undergraduate ceremony occurred May 14 at the XL Center in Hartford, CT, and the graduate-level ceremony occurred May 11 on Eastern's campus.

Twelve students from Eastern Connecticut State University beheld many environments on a 12-day scientific excursion through New Hampshire and Maine in late May. Eastern Connecticut State University welcomed its newest Warriors to campus this June during the annual Student Orientation Advising and Registration (SOAR) program. Psychology students at Eastern Connecticut State University traversed the tundra of the human psyche on a 10-day field course in Iceland this May. Sponsored by the Department of Psychological Science as part of Professor Peter Bachiochi's field course "Cross-Cultural Well-Being," the trip gave students a look at the mental health of a foreign country.

Organized by the Intercultural Center on campus, the event recognized the efforts of minority students, who often face systemic barriers before, during and after college.

The Department of Education at Eastern sponsored a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, this past spring semester to expose students to the different educational environments between the island and the mainland United States. The trip was led by education Professor David Stoloff as a part of his course titled "Intercultural Connections among Universities."

Each semester, students travel from Eastern Connecticut State University to study at various universities across the world. This semester, 12 students studied in Europe, South America, Asia and Australia.

The Honors Program at Eastern Connecticut State University recognized 16 graduating seniors on May 11 for completing honors theses, the program's capstone requirement.

Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual induction for Beta Beta Beta (Tribeta), the international honor society for biology, on April 26. The ceremony inducted 11 students and recognized 13 for outstanding academic achievement.

This spring 2024 semester, 21 computer science and business information systems students from Eastern Connecticut State University were inducted into Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), the international honor society for the computing sciences. UPE was created to promote the computing and information disciplines - computer science and business information systems - and to encourage students to contribute to academic conversations. Students inducted into the honor society must maintain a high level of academic achievement and be well versed in the various computing and information disciplines.
