Fifteen Eastern Connecticut State University students recently returned from the American Southwest after studying desert ecology in a global field course (GFC) with the biology department. The trip took place from March 9-17 and was supervised by professors Brett Mattingly and Matthew Graham.

Eastern's rendition of "Pluto" took center stage at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) earlier this month. "Pluto" was one of only three productions featured at the Region 1 festival, which includes colleges and universities from all over New England and New York, including New York City. The paper will appear in an upcoming issue of "Behavior Analysis in Practice," a prestigious transnational journal.

Several Eastern Connecticut State University students are volunteering with local preschool children through Jumpstart, an AmeriCorps program that supports the language and social skills of children from low-income areas.

Twenty psychology students expanded their worldview over winter session during a global field course in Hawaii. Titled "Cross-Cultural Well-Being and Relationships in Hawaii," the course ran from Jan. 2-11. Students were immersed in the local culture and visited some of the island chain's most breathtaking sites.
