Displays of research and creativity dominated the Eastern Connecticut State University campus on April 12 for the annual CREATE conference. CREATE stands for "Celebrating Research Excellence and Artistic Talent at Eastern," and is the university's premier undergraduate conference.

Eight Eastern Connecticut State University students were recognized for their research projects at the Northeast Decision Sciences Annual Conference (NEDSI) in Philadephia on April 4-7.

Eastern Connecticut State University students Haley Knox '19 and Jacob Dayton '19 have been named recipients of the 2019 Henry Barnard Distinguished Student Award. The 31st annual Henry Barnard Awards Banquet, held on April 23 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT, recognized 12 outstanding undergraduates from Connecticut's four state universities - Central, Eastern, Southern and Western.

Eastern Connecticut State University held its inaugural Iota Iota Iota (Triota) induction on April 12, launching the Epsilon Gamma Chapter by recognizing student and alumni members. Triota is a national service-based Women's and Gender Studies honor society that promotes academic excellence and facilitates activism.

His roles include assisting in government audits, assessing mistakes or fraud, communicating with agencies and obeying policies and laws. Lyon majors in accounting.

Eastern Connecticut State University student AnaMaria Skarzynski'19 of Guilford is interning with Eastern's food service provider, Chartwells, this spring 2019 semester. Her roles include building a marketing team as well as planning and promoting events. Skarzynski majors in business administration and psychology.

Five instrumentalists from Eastern Connecticut State University recently performed among the best undergraduate musicians in the Northeast. A clarinetist, a flautist, a percussionist and two trombonists represented Eastern's Music Program in an "honors band" at the 2019 New England Intercollegiate Band Festival on March 29-30 at Gordon College in Massachusetts.

Eastern Connecticut State University's Finance Program held its year-end banquet on March 26 in the Paul E. Johnson Room of the J. Eugene Smith Library. The event featured remarks by university dignitaries; a keynote address by Eastern alumnus Andrew Simmons '06; presentations by current students as well as representatives of Travelers Insurance; and an awards ceremony.

Four sport and leisure management students from Eastern Connecticut State University won the 2019 New England Sport Management Case Study Competition on Feb. 28 at Nichols College. Eastern competed against eight other teams and won first place for the second year in a row.

The Theatre Program at Eastern Connecticut State University presented "The Wolves" as its first production of the spring 2019 semester. Running from Feb. 27-March 3 in the DelMonte Studio Theatre, "The Wolves" is a coming-of-age story that takes place on the turf of a local indoor soccer field.

The men's lacrosse team at Eastern Connecticut State University recently began its spring season. The opening game resulted in a 10-7 non-conference win, the first for new head coach Marc Graham.
