English Students Write Fiction in Italy

Fourteen students from Eastern Connecticut State University spent a month this summer in Florence, Italy, in a global field course called "Creative Writing Abroad." The region of Tuscany's rich culture and picturesque landscapes inspired students' literary senses as they wrote, critiqued and edited original works of fiction.

Haley Knox Completes NSF Research Experience in Iowa

Haley Knox '18, an Eastern Connecticut State University student from Bristol, recently returned from a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Iowa funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). For the months of June and July, Knox worked on a research project at Iowa State University titled "Ordered Multiplicity Inverse Eigenvalue Problem for Graphs on Six Vertices."

Catherine Falvey '17, an Eastern Connecticut State University student from Bristol, recently returned from a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in California funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). From June to August, Falvey conducted a mathematics research project titled "Probabilities Concerning Sets of Matrices" at California State University Channel Islands.

Thirty-six student-athletes from Eastern Connecticut State University qualified for the Little East Conference (LEC) All-Academic Team in the spring 2017 semester. In order to qualify for the team, student-athletes must have achieved sophomore academic and athletic status with cumulative GPAs of at least 3.30.

Katy Jankura and Darianne Mastricola were among more than 200 student-athletes representing 73 conferences nationwide at the four-day symposium at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, IN.
